April 3-10:  Phoenix Film Festival
Thursday, April 3, through Thursday, April 10. Harkins Scottsdale 101, 7000 E. Mayo Blvd., Phoenix. $13 for single films; $40 to $300 for packages.

April 4-5:  Chandler Jazz Festival
4:45pm Friday, April 4, and noon Saturday, April 5. Dr. A.J. Chandler Park, 3 S. Arizona Ave. Free.

April 5-6:  Phoenix Pride Parade and Festival
Saturday and Sunday, April 5-6. The parade starts at 10am Saturday, running north on Third Street from Thomas Road to Indian School Road in Phoenix.  The festival will be held noon-9pm. Both days at Steele Indian School Park. 300 E. Indian School Road. $15 and up per day; $12 for ages 13-17 with a discount code from the Pride office; free for age 12 or younger.

April 5-8:  Phoenix Comicon
6:30pm-11:30pm Thursday; 10:30am-11:30pm Friday; 10:30am-11:30pm Sunday.  Phoenix Convention Center, 100 N. Third St. Programming hous vary at off-site locations. $15 to $85 per day; free fro ages 12 or younger with a paying adult.

April 6:  Cool Cars and Hot Eats Car Show
8am-noon Sunday, April 6. Tempe Diablo Stadium, 2200 W. Alameda Dr., Tempe. The Copperstate 1000 cars depart at 9:30am. Free admission.

April 9-13:  Maricopa County Fair
10am-10pm Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday; 10am-midnight Friday and Saturday. Arizona state fairgrounds, 19th Ave. and McDowell Rd, Phoenix. $9 (discounts available); free for age 7 or younger. Free admission 10am-3pm Wednesday-Friday thanks to KDKB-FM. Free admission Wednesday for age 55 or older.  Donate 3 cans of food after 3pm Wednesday or Thursday to get a $4 discount on admission. $7 parking.

April 10-13:  Country Thunder
2:30pm Thursday-Sunday, April 10-13. 20585 E. Price Rd, Florence. $220 for a four-day pass.

April 12:  Lake Pleasant Paddle Fest
8am-5pm Saturday, April 12. Fireman’s Cove at Lake Pleasant 41835 N. Castle Hot Springs Rd., Morristown. The paddle fishing begins at 5am. $6 per vehicle for parking. $2 per paddle craft.

April 12:  Fiestas United Multicultural Music Festival & Black History Celebration
11am-10pm, Saturday, April 12. Osuna Park, 10510 N. 83rd Ave., Peoria. $5; free for age 10 or younger.

April 12:  Sunnyslope Art Walk
5-9pm Saturday, April 12, Central Avenue between Dunlap Ave. and the Arizona Canal. Admission is free.
